The world's largest short film festival is bouncing up and down in anticipation for its 17th festival! Once again all filmmakers of all backgrounds and levels of experience get out there and start shooting short films for the festival. Films can be about anything but must include the annual Tropfest Signature Item (TSI), which for 2009 is "SPRING".
Movie Extra Tropfest was established to encourage production, not just exhibition.
The event is not just about 'showing' films – it's about 'making' them with the aim to provide film makers with the opportunity to showcase their work to as wide an audience as possible, not only with the fantastic premiere their film will receive if selected for the Movie Extra Tropfest 2009, but also by utilising a variety of distribution outlets following the festival.
Over 150,000 people will come together on Sunday 22 February 2009 to view 16 Finalist Films, selected from what is anticipated will be more than 700 entries at venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Hobart and Adelaide.
