This is the second year that Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited has sponsored the Lancer Supershort Series, a joint venture with Movie Extra Tropfest and PBL Media.
In a change from last year's format involving six Tropfest alumni Directors, the 2008-09 Lancer Supershort Series has seen three Directors create short films up to 3 minutes in length which feature Mitsubishi's all new Lancer Sportback model. Directors were encouraged to "make films, not ads", and were given creative freedom and support in developing their scripts.
John Polson, Movie Extra Tropfest Founder and Director, says, "We are thrilled that Mitsubishi is supporting a second Lancer Supershort Series and Movie Extra Tropfest. This initiative has given our filmmakers invaluable experience working for a global brand and a chance to further establish a name for themselves within the industry. We've received a lot of interest from filmmakers in both series, and the chosen Directors have delivered outstanding work. Several of them have landed jobs or secured other commissions as a direct result of their involvement with the Lancer Supershort Series."
The Lancer Supershort Series films for 2008 are a unique mix, with something to suit just about everyone. And we want you to tell us which film is your favourite. Simply vote for your favourite film and you go into the draw to win a brand new Lancer Sportsback. Plus when you use the "send to a friend" feature to let your friends know about the series you have the chance to win other great prizes including iPods and Tom Tom GPS.
